In the realm of the ‘pick up artist’ your opening line is referred to as the ‘opener’. Funny that! The best opener is to ask a question, it can be about pretty much anything. Let me break down a couple of examples for you and explain how, and why they work.
Open by saying ‘can I get a quick female opinion on something?’. This is a great start as no matter what you look like (you could be an absolute hunk) more often than not when a strange guy approaches a women their first thought is ‘geez, when’s this guy going to leave?’ Whereas they’ll be far more open if they think you just want a quick opinion. Secondly, most women think they’ve got the answer to most things, and they love to gossip, so asking them for an opinion leaves them open.
Next the question. I’m an indie rock and roll kid so I wear skinny jeans a lot, I often go with ‘do you think that skinny jeans look good on a guy, or just make him look gay?’. Add a bit of humour to it, whilst remaining confident. You can ask pretty much anything though, another example I’ve heard is to ask ‘me and my mates were having a discussion. If you were dating a guy, and he was still friends with his ex who he broke up with 5 months ago, would you be ok with it?’ Women love to offer their opinion on this sort of stuff, so rather than them thinking ‘jeez, this guy is needy and clearly wants to get into my knickers’, they’re much more open to talk to you, it’s a great first impression.
Now go and try it, for the time being don’t try and take this further, just get used to approaching women, on their own, or when they’re in groups.
